O Facebook anunciou ontem (19) novas ferramentas e opcionais para ajudar as pessoas a administrarem melhor sua identidade no Facebook com o uso de reconhecimento facial. Baseadas na mesma tecnologia usada para sugerir amigos que você pode ter interesse de marcar em suas fotos ou vídeos, essas novas funcionalidades irão ajudar os usuários a encontrarem fotos em que você não foi marcado, bem como auxiliá-los a detectar quando alguém estiver tentando usar uma imagem sua indevidamente como foto de perfil.
Uma nova funcionalidade também está sendo lançada para que pessoas com deficiência visual possam saber quais pessoas estão nas fotos que aparecem no Facebook. Além disso, um novo botão de “ativado/desativado” para administrar o uso da tecnologia de reconhecimento facial em seu perfil vai estar disponível: se sua configuração de sugestão de marcação estiver atualmente marcada como “nenhuma”, a configuração de reconhecimento facial estará desativada e permanecerá assim até que você queira ativá-la.
Identificando pessoas
A partir de agora, se você estiver em uma foto e fizer parte da audiência daquela postagem, você será notificado, mesmo que não tenha sido marcado na foto. Isso vai dar maior controle da sua imagem no Facebook e a possibilidade de escolher se quer marcar a si mesmo, desmarcar ou contatar a pessoa que postou a foto se você achar que isso é necessário.
Em breve, a tecnologia de reconhecimento facial vai começar a ser usada também para avisar os usuários quando alguém usar uma foto deles como foto de perfil para evitar que alguém se passe por outra pessoa na rede social. Com essa mesma tecnologia, aqueles que usam a ferramenta de leitura de tela já em atividade há dois anos na plataforma poderão saber quem aparece nas fotos do seu Feed de Notícias, mesmo que elas não estejam marcadas na foto em questão.
