Em entrevista com a Hollywood Reporter, a atriz Karen Gillan revelou que Jumanji: Bem-vindo à Selva tinha um final alternativo mais sombrio, que consistia no personagem de Dwayne Johnson ficando preso no videogame.
Nas versões alternativas, tinha uma em que Spencer queria ficar preso no videogame com Martha. Isso definitivamente deixaria a história mais interessante e abriria um gancho para uma sequência.
O ator Jack Black complementa com uma piada, “O The Rock era o que queria ficar preso no jogo porque ele tinha o melhor avatar. Ele tinha o corpo de Dwayne e todas as suas forças!”
