Em parceria com a fabricante de automóveis Renault, a Ubisoft decidiu imaginar como pode ser o sistema de entretenimento dos carros do futuro. A ideia é que, como não será mais preciso dirigir de forma convencional, pessoas poderão dedicar seu tempo a novas experiências de entretenimento enquanto vão de um lugar para outro.
O experimento da Ubisoft usa óculos de realidade virtual para criar um ambiente surreal que muda as características dos caminhos reais que devemos percorrer. O vídeo de demonstração mostra como, no futuro, podemos ver pessoas sentadas atrás de um volante que se preocupam mais em se divertir do que em prestar atenção ao que vem pela frente.
“A experiência da Ubisoft se conecta ao carro reproduzindo a navegação em tempo real, incluindo variações de velocidade, mudanças de pista e os veículos ao redor, fazendo cada viagem ser única enquanto aumenta a imersão e o escapismo”, afirma a desenvolvedora. Segundo ela, a experiência é capaz de fazer com que uma pessoa até mesmo se esqueça de que está dentro de um carro que se dirige essencialmente sozinho.
O vídeo divulgado pela Ubisoft mostra o carro Symbioz dirigindo em uma rodovia próxima à região norte de Paris. Embora uma data para que sistemas do tipo entrem em operação não tenha sido prevista pela empresa, ela garante que tudo o que vimos no vídeo promocional já pode ser reproduzido de alguma forma em condições reais.
