O iPhone foi o produto tecnológico que mais vendeu em 2017, com 223 milhões de unidades globalmente. A informação, divulgada nesta terça-feira (2), é do jornal americano USA Today. Como destacou o periódico, isso é mais do que a quantidade do 2º ao 5º colocado combinados. Os smartphones Galaxy S8 and Note 8 ficaram bem atrás e somaram apenas 33 milhões de unidades vendidas, o que deixou a Samsung com a segunda posição.
Como destacou o jornal, isso é mais do que os 211 milhões de iPhones vendidos em 2016, mas não supera a marca de 230 milhões de 2015. Vale ressaltar que este total refere-se a todos os exemplares que estão disponíveis no mercado e que, em 2017, a Apple lançou três novos modelos: o iPhone 8 e 8 Plus, além do iPhone X.
A lista dos cinco mais vendidos se completa com Echo Dot da Amazon (24 milhões) em terceiro lugar, Apple Watch (20 milhões) em quarto e o console de videogame Nintendo Switch (15 milhões) na quinta colocação.
O analista Daniel Ives, da GBH Insights, consultado pelo USA Today, acredita que as vendas dos iPhones em 2018 devem ser ainda maiores. Já o analista Patrick Moorhead, da Moorhead Insights, aposta que produtos como o iPhone 8 ou iPhone 7, que não possuem tecnologia de ponta com o iPhone X, devem ter o preço reduzido drasticamente este ano, o que pode impulsionar ainda mais as vendas.
