Boa notícia para quem está de olho em um carro híbrido ou 100% elétrico no Brasil. O governo deve anunciar em breve uma redução radical no IPI (Imposto sobre Produtos Industrializados) desses automóveis, baixando a taxa para ficar igual a dos veículos tradicionais com motor 1.0.
O imposto será reduzido de até 25%, que é a taxa atual, para 7%. A ideia é iniciar um programa de incentivo para que esse tipo de automóvel seja popularizado no país, já que os modelos serão bastante barateados. Quem confirmou a informação foi o ministro de Indústria e Comércio Exterior, Marcos Jorge, durante um evento da montadora Toyota.
A redução já era esperada, mas não estava confirmado o tratamento igual aos modelos elétricos e híbridos. O ministro disse não haver motivo para tratar os modelos de forma diferenciada.
Segundo o jornal Folha de São Paulo, a redução na taxa deve impactar diretamente o valor do Prius (de R$ 126 mil por R$ 118 mil) e do BMW i3, por exemplo, sendo que este último sofria com os 25% de IPI máximo. Entretanto, a redução ainda pode levar alguns meses para ser de fato sentida no bolso do consumidor.

A redução do imposto deve ser divulgada ainda em janeiro e faz parte da preparação do programa Rota 2030, uma plataforma do governo que deve ser apresentada em fevereiro e pode incluir mais incentivos fiscais no setor de carros elétricos e híbridos.
